Nitrogen Formed high frequency diaphragms *

Using a proprietary alloy discovered by its “metallurgist” founder Richard Kontrimas, the alloy uses a unique “straight” Grain structure, this combined with Radian’s “cold” press techniques ensures the straight grain structure of the diaphragm is never distorted. Other manufacturers use a heat treat process to form the metals into the dome structures; Radian uses Pure Nitrogen in the forming process which does not rearrange any of the metallic particles present in the material. By keeping the grain structure of the alloy at a straight striation, metal stressors are eliminated in the dome assembly. This technique results in a diaphragm which is made from a very low-Q material and produces extremely coherent, natural non-colored audio.

Mylar suspension: *

An industry first; our compression diaphragms suspension is compromised of a specially developed Mylar. Utilizing a Mylar surround enhances the diaphragm’s reliability and eliminates fatigue stressed that destroy other compression driver diaphragms. In addition to being virtually indestructible, Mylar® surrounds provide excellent dampening characteristics which translate into smooth, low-distortion, linear output devoid of the resonant peaks typically present in diaphragms made with metal surrounds.

HH Annular ring phase plug *

This proprietary phase plug allows the high frequencies to be radiated through a horn throat formed into the woofer center pole, machined at an exact 2-1 ratio to the compression drivers exit. This design maximizes the point source aspects of the system and permits unusually wide angle dispersion of high frequency program material. The end result is outstanding polar response and excellent in room power response.
